According to report by Vanguard on Thursday, July 23, 2026, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial aspirant in Osun West, Peter Ogundeji, has explained that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s achievements in office convinced him to leave the APC for the Accord Party ahead of the Osun governorship election.

Ogundeji made the declaration during a gathering at the Government House open field in Osogbo, where he officially defected to the Accord Party alongside thousands of his supporters.
