The governor made the appeal while speaking to members of the Fulani community in Minna on July 18, stressing that collaboration with security authorities is essential in combating criminal activities. Bago said the actions of armed criminal groups operating in parts of the state were creating a negative perception of the Fulani community.

He noted that the unlawful activities of a few individuals were unfairly damaging the reputation of the wider community, which, he said, should not be identified with criminal behaviour.
