Folawe Alamu, the Principal of Community Grammar School, Ahoro-Esinele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, who was abducted during a recent school attack, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde and concerned Nigerians to negotiate with the kidnappers holding them captive.
According to TheCable on Friday, Alamu made the emotional appeal in a video that surfaced online on Thursday, May 27, 2026, revealing the difficult conditions the victims have endured since their abduction nearly two weeks ago.
Alamu said that, they have remained in the bush for about 13 days following the attack, battling harsh weather conditions without relief.
“Good morning, today is the 27th of May 2026. About 13 days ago we were picked from work and till now we are still in the bush,” she said in the video.
The abducted principal called on the federal and state governments, as well as the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), to intervene urgently and engage the kidnappers in dialogue to secure their release.
“We are begging President Tinubu, Governor Makinde and every well-meaning Nigerian to please come to our aid. I am also calling on the Nigeria Union of Teachers to help us and speak with them,” she pleaded.
“You don’t need force. All you have to do is negotiate with them and release us. We are in the cold, under the sun and inside the rain — both the children and adults. Please don’t let them waste our lives.”
Mrs. Alamu further disclosed that the abductors were becoming increasingly impatient, warning that the situation could deteriorate if urgent action was not taken.
The victims were abducted during coordinated attacks carried out by armed men on motorcycles on May 15, 2026, in Oriire Local Government Area.
The attackers reportedly invaded Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota; Community Grammar School, Ahoro-Esinele; and L.A. Primary School, Esiele.
Following the incident, the Oyo State Police Command confirmed that Assistant Headmaster Mr. Adesiyan and an okada rider lost their lives during the attack. Security agencies have continued efforts to rescue the abducted victims and track down the perpetrators.
