According to a report by Daily Post on Thursday, July 9, 2026, Nyesom Wike, the minister of the FCT, stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will have a hard time winning the 2027 presidential election.
He said the party’s prospects of winning the next general election have diminished due to the severe internal problems it is experiencing at the moment. During his monthly media chat in Abuja, Wike made the remarks.
The FCT minister elaborated on how the PDP’s ongoing internal strife has weakened the party’s cohesion and power.
He claims that the opposition party’s inability to resolve its own issues has rendered it unable to mount a credible presidential campaign in 2027.
