This is coming shortly after he was sacked as Senate Chief Whip and stripped off his vice chairmanship position on the Appropriation Committee.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the appointment in a minor reshuffle of Senate standing committees.

Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has been named the new chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Matters, replacing the former chair , Senator Mohammed Mongono.

Mongono is appointed as the new chief whip of the Senate and will also serve as the vice chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation.

Senator Ned Nwoko will serve as chairman of the proposed Committee on Reparation and Repatriation.

Senator Abdul Ningi retains his earlier position as chairman Senate committee on Population Commission while Senator Simon Lalong has been named chairman of the Senate Committee on Agricultural Institutions.

Senator Musa Mustapha has been appointed as the new chairman of the Senate Committee on Livestock Development, a new ministry created by the federal government.

The Senate also dismissed a motion seeking to sanction Ali Ndume, over a statement made during an interview where he referred to the Lawmakers as “kleptomaniacs”.

Senator Fasuyi Cyril from Ekiti North raised a point of order urging the Senate to take action against Ndume for his remark.

The motion was unanimously rejected by Godswill Akpabio.

Ndume was removed as Chief Whip following a complaint from the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Headquarters, where he was accused of making unguarded utterances against President Bola Tinubu.>>>CONTINUE FULL READING HERE
