The victim, who is currently receiving medical attention at a healthcare facility in Yola, while narrating his ordeal, described the incident as traumatic.

According to Ijabani, he was ambushed in the middle of the road while driving, manhandled and forcefully dragged out of his car by the DSS operatives on Monday at the Bekaji-round in Jimeta.

He explained that he was badly tortured before being interrogated about what happened between him and Peter’s wife, Tina – the woman he leased his building to and later asked to vacate the property.

After giving his account of the incident, the operatives who reportedly realised that he was not at fault, pleaded with him to let go after the ill-treatment which inflicted several injuries on him.

He stated that the humiliation and brutality inflicted on citizens by some overzealous security personnel need to be curbed, adding that he will seek redress in court.
