JUST IN: Politicians offered me money to stop anti-government content, says Kevin Blak

Kevin Blak, the Nigerian skit maker known for his sharp social commentary and satirical sketches, says he “turned down an offer of dollars from unnamed politicians” who wanted him to alter his content style.

In a recent appearance on Arise TV, the content creator, also known as Governor Amuneke, said the proposal arrived at a particularly vulnerable moment in his personal life.

According to him, his wife had just undergone a Cesarean section, leaving him burdened with mounting medical bills.

“I have had this dude say he is from a so-so person; I would not want to mention the name. He said they are going to change my life and give me dollars. They mentioned that my collegues are in the same situation and all of that, but I refuted that, that is not why we are here,” he said.

“Then I had this pressure because my wife just had a baby through CS, and a lot of bills were on my neck. Then I just got a message: come to Abuja, let’s change your life.”

Amuneke said, despite the financial strain, he rejected the offer on principle.

“I looked at it and said no, I am who I am,” he said.

“I have been here for a long time, and I have never been in anything illegal. I have never been in a condition where I am doing something because of money. If I want to do it, it would be something I am doing because I want to do it.”

In February, the skit maker revealed that he rejected an alleged invitation to join President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
