According to a report by The Washington Post on Thursday, May 07, 2026, A B-1B Lancer bomber that was previously retired and sent to storage in the Arizona desert has been returned to active duty after an extensive restoration effort by the United States Air Force.

The aircraft was placed in 2021 at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, commonly known as “The Boneyard,” where decommissioned military aircraft are either dismantled for parts or preserved for potential reuse.
