The controversial performer made the comments during a recent livestream session with Kcee and E-Money, two music entrepreneurs, in which he discussed his desire to box alongside famous people.
Carter Efe, who supposedly won a celebrity boxing match against singer Portable in the past, said during the live session that he is ready for a fresh challenge and hinted that Wizkid would be his next opponent.
The planned fight, in his view, would be more than just a fight; it would be an opportunity for the two sides to settle their differences through a personal showdown.
“The person I want to fight now is Wizkid, and I want his son Boluwatife to be there,” Carter Efe said during the livestream. “Let him come and take the championship from me if he is man enough.”
His remarks went viral on social media, with followers arguing about the gravity of the challenge and his intentions.
For a long time, Carter Efe and Wizkid had a contentious relationship due to issues around a tribute song that Efe had released in Wizkid’s favour. He had earlier claimed that the discord between them was caused in part by Wizkid’s lack of recognition and support for the initiative.
Neither the challenge nor Carter Efe’s most recent remarks have received a response from Wizkid. Because of her reputation for keeping a low profile in public life, the artist has typically shied away from becoming involved in internet arguments.
The concept of organised boxing bouts with influential people, musicians, and performers has grown in popularity around the world in the past few years, attracting huge internet crowds. But official promoters usually set these things up, and the two parties involved have to agree to go through with it.
