According to Daily post, Real Madrid winger Vinícius Júnior has lavished praise on teammate Kylian Mbappé ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing the France captain as a legendary player who has already secured his place in football history.
Speaking in an interview with Cazé TV, the Brazilian international highlighted Mbappe’s achievements both for club and country, particularly his performances on the world stage. Vinicius said the French forward continues to impress not only with his talent on the pitch but also with his personality away from football.
According to Vinicius, many supporters may not fully know Mbappe’s character because of his fierce competitiveness during matches. However, he insisted the former Paris Saint-Germain star is humble and friendly behind the scenes.
“He’s really a very good person,” Vinicius said during the interview. “Brazilian fans have that impression of him, but actually, whenever we have the chance, we hang out off the field like friends.”
The Brazilian winger also pointed to Mbappe’s remarkable achievements with the French national team as evidence of his greatness. Mbappe famously won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France and produced one of the most memorable displays in World Cup history when he scored a hat-trick in the dramatic 2022 final against Argentina.
Vinicius said such accomplishments have already elevated the striker into football’s elite category despite still being in the prime years of his career.
“He is a great player. He has already won the World Cup final and scored three goals in the final,” Vinicius added. “He is a legendary player who will leave his mark on Real Madrid and in the entire history of football. He is already doing so now.”
