U.S. Congressman Brad Schneider of Illinois has criticised the Memorandum of Understanding recently signed between the United States and Iran, describing it as a “surrender agreement” and accusing President Donald Trump of bypassing Congress and the American people throughout the conflict and subsequent negotiations.
In a statement titled “Schneider Statement on Memorandum of Understanding Between U.S and Iran,” the Illinois lawmaker argued that President Trump had become “the first U.S. President to officially sign a surrender agreement,” insisting that the development was made “even more of a disgrace by the fact that he unilaterally started this war without the support of Congress or the American people.”
