During an appearance on Fox Tv on Tuesday, July 14th 2026, Fox News host Jesse Watters has claimed that powerful military factions within Iran are obstructing peace efforts, arguing that the United States is increasing pressure on Tehran after concluding that previous diplomatic efforts have failed.

Speaking during his programme, Watters said the Iranian military leadership was unwilling to support a negotiated settlement because it feared losing influence within the country’s power structure.
