BREAKING: Nigerian Army Makes U-turn, Says Suspect Caught During Operation Isn’t A Terrorist

According to a Facebook post on 23rd July 2026, the Nigerian Army has cleared an individual who was previously reported as a terror suspect. The military said investigations found no evidence linking him to any terrorist group.

The clarification followed media reports about an individual intercepted by troops during an exploitation operation after the attack on Cross Kauwa. The military explained that the troops acted in line with established operational procedures. It said the prevailing security situation made it necessary to take the individual into custody for further investigation.
