The Speaker of the Osun state House of Assembly, Hon Adewale Egbedun has taken to his official X account on Thursday, July 30, 2026 to explain the reason why the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Alhaji Teslim Igbaloye was arrested.
In the statement that Egbedun shared on his official X account, he said the SSG was arrested after he laughed at the Commissioner of Police during the INEC Stakeholders Meeting in Osun state.
According to report, the meeting was held ahead of the governorship election in Osun state on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The Speaker of the Osun state House of Assembly said the SSG laughed after some people booed the CP while he was speaking on the podium.
Egbedun accused the CP of intimidation and abuse of power.
According to Egbedun on his official X account;
“We all witnessed the unfortunate moment when Commissioner Gotan was booed while on the podium by citizens of Osun State. Immediately he returned to his seat, he looked directly towards us. At that moment, the SSG laughed”.
