Recently, multiple Nigerians have requested the removal of Joash Amupitan, the head of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), following the commission’s decision to not recognize the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before the upcoming 2027 presidential elections.
In a video, Omoyele Sowore, a human rights advocate and leader in the AAC, remarked that those Nigerians asking for the INEC chairman’s removal are also suggesting who should take his place.
Sowore indicated that President Tinubu is unable to hold a fair and impartial election, emphasizing that his older brother, who died two years ago at the age of ninety-three, did not attend his funeral.
In the video, it was stated, “His older brother, who passed away two years ago, was ninety-three years old, yet he did not go to the funeral.”
