Prince Laja Adeoye Promises “Real Change And Freedom” After Emerging APM Lagos Guber Flagbearer

According to a report by PM News on Thursday, May 28, 2026, Prince Laja Adeoye has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) for the 2027 Lagos State election, following a consensus-based primary held in Yaba, Lagos, under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The selection process involved delegates and stakeholders from all 20 local government areas of the state, according to the party’s electoral committee.

Announcing the outcome, the Chairman of the APM Governorship Primary Electoral Committee, Mr Godwin Williamson, confirmed that Adeoye met all constitutional and procedural requirements of the party and the Electoral Act.

“Having fulfilled all constitutional and procedural requirements of the party and the Electoral Act, and following the consensus endorsement by stakeholders and delegates, I hereby officially declare Prince Laja Adeoye as the duly elected and returned gubernatorial candidate of the APM for the 2027 Lagos State Governorship Election,” Williamson stated.

In his acceptance speech, Adeoye, a real estate entrepreneur, pledged sweeping reforms for Lagos State, promising what he described as “real change and freedom” if elected governor.

He said his vision is anchored on a policy framework titled “Àtunto Èkó 1.0: Re-Engineering Lagos for Inclusive Prosperity,” also referred to as the “RESET LAGOS Agenda 2027.”

Adeoye said the plan focuses on economic expansion, job creation, housing development, education, healthcare, infrastructure renewal, security, and inclusive governance.

He outlined plans to attract investment through public–private partnerships, alternative project funding, and policies aimed at reducing borrowing while stimulating economic growth.

According to him, the agenda also prioritises industrial hubs across the IBILE zones, power sector investments, agribusiness expansion, and youth empowerment programmes.

On housing, he promised large-scale affordable housing delivery, while also pledging improvements in healthcare access and facility upgrades across all levels of care.

“We will renew communities with compassion, dignity and justice so that every Lagosian can have a secure roof over their head,” he said.

Adeoye also called for unity within the party and coalition partners, urging members to focus on collective goals ahead of the 2027 elections.

APM State Chairman, Mrs Bunmi Adeyemo, said the consensus process reflected the wishes of party stakeholders, noting that other candidates for legislative positions also emerged through similar affirmation processes.
