According to a report by the Nigerian Tribune on Friday, June 5, 2026, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned the presidential candidate of the NDC, Peter Obi, that selecting Rabiu Kwankwaso as his running mate could undermine his chances of winning the presidency.
In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele expressed concern that Obi’s strong desire to achieve his ambition may be clouding his judgment.
He suggested that the former Anambra State governor is so focused on his goal that he is unable to recognize certain surrounding factors that could ultimately hinder his progress.
According to the cleric, Obi’s unwillingness to heed guidance has placed him in a vulnerable position politically.
He further alleged that Kwankwaso is not genuinely committed to supporting Obi’s presidential bid and may already be working against him without his knowledge.
“Peter Obi doesn’t listen to divine instructions, and because of this, he has fallen into the wrong hands for his ambition. Kwankwaso isn’t ready to fight for him; he will eventually sell him out, but he doesn’t know it yet. He has already muddled Obi’s presidential ambition.”
Ayodele went on to claim that Kwankwaso’s involvement in the political arrangement is driven primarily by personal interests rather than a shared vision.
He maintained that his remarks are not rooted in bias or personal dislike for any political figure but are based on his assessment of the situation.
