JUST IN: The Abduction Of Chibok Girls Triggered A Movement, But Under PMB And BAT, Everyone Is Silent – Obi

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate has taken to his official X handle to voice his displeasure over the silence of citizens regarding the rising cases of insecurity across the country.

According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle on Friday June 5th, 2026 he pointed out that in 2014, a global movement was formed when students were abducted from a secondary school in Chibok, Borno State.

However, according to the former Anambra State governor, under the administration of former president Muhammadu Buhari and President Bola Tinubu, the citizens remained silent, a shift which he believed was troublesome.

His reaction came amid the heated arguments that trailed the abduction of several school children and teachers in Oyo State. He maintained that the deafening silence from the people was alarming.

The shift, according to the former governor, raised serious questions as to wether the people had normalized insecurity or grown accustomed to the failure of past and present administrations.
