At least 30 people were killed when armed men stormed the Naridon community in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday night.
One of the victims, Joseph Marcus, lost eight people in a single room of his home, including his wife, his children, and neighbours who had rushed to him for safety during the attack.
Speaking on Trust TV, he said, “We were inside the house when the gunmen broke in. We all ran to hide, and about eight people squeezed into one room. After the attackers left, we came out and found bodies lying everywhere. We didn’t know what to do, so we left everything in God’s hands. My wife was among the eight people killed in that room I feel completely broken right now,” he said.
Marcus said the scale of the tragedy still does not feel real, describing himself as a man who is no longer truly living but merely existing in the aftermath of what he witnessed.
He further revealed that he is now making plans to leave the community with the remaining members of his family.
