According to a report by The Times Of Israel on May 18, 2026, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its forces targeted groups allegedly connected to the United States and Israel in the western province of Kurdistan, close to the Iraqi border. The statement was published by the ISNA news agency amid continued regional tensions and heightened security concerns along Iran’s frontier areas.

The IRGC claimed that the groups were operating from northern Iraq and were attempting to move a large cache of American-made weapons and ammunition into Iranian territory.
