The Court of Appeal sitting in Ilorin has upheld the d3ath sentence imposed on an Islamic cleric Abdulrahman Bello for the m8rder of Hafsoh Yetunde Lawal, a student of the Kwara State College of Education, dismissing his appeal and affirming the judgment of the lower court.
In the judgment delivered by a three-member panel led by Justice Gabriel Omoniyi Kolawole, the appellate court held that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that Bello committed the offence of m8rder and was also guilty of unlawful possession of human parts.

The court ruled that the trial court properly evaluated the evidence presented before it and arrived at the correct conclusion, leaving no basis to interfere with either the conviction or the sentence.
