BREAKING: How Jonathan Faces Constitutional Challenge Over Possible 2027 Run

According to a report by Punch on Thursday, May 7, 2026, a Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed Friday for the hearing of a suit seeking to bar former President Goodluck Jonathan from contesting the 2027 presidential election. The case, filed by lawyer Johnmary Jideobi, is asking the court to determine whether Jonathan remains constitutionally eligible to seek Nigeria’s highest office again.

The plaintiff is urging the court to restrain Jonathan from presenting himself to any political party as a candidate and to stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from accepting or publishing his name..Read The Complete; Full Original Here.>>>
