Media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lere Olayinka, has circulated a video clip capturing a warm and humorous exchange between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike during the President’s return to Abuja.
The footage showed President Tinubu arriving at the airport in the nation’s capital after a trip to Lagos, where he was received by a group of ministers and senior government officials who had gathered to welcome him back.
As part of the brief interactions with officials on arrival, the President was seen exchanging greetings with Wike in a light-hearted atmosphere. During the moment, Tinubu jokingly addressed the FCT Minister as “Landlord,” a remark that drew laughter from those standing nearby.“Landlord, you are back?” Tinubu was heard saying to the FCT Minister.
The comment, delivered in a casual and friendly tone, quickly sparked amusement among officials present at the airport and later gained wider attention after the video was shared on social media by Olayinka.
Reacting to the clip, Lere Olayinka suggested that the exchange may not sit well with certain political observers or critics, implying that the visible cordiality between the President and the former Rivers State governor could generate mixed reactions in political circles.
