BREAKING: ADC Breaks Silence, Downplays Wike’s Rainbow Coalition Ahead of 2027 Rivers Election

According to a report by The Vanguard on Thursday, June 4, 2026, the Rivers State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed concerns regarding the political dominance of the Rainbow Coalition, a political movement loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

The party insisted that voters, rather than influential political blocks, will decide the outcome of the 2027 elections.

Speaking on Thursday, June 4, 2026, the Rivers State Chairman of the ADC, Dr. Chukwudi Dimkpa, declared that his party will not be distracted by rival groups. Instead, the party is focusing its energy on expanding its grassroots structures and presenting credible alternatives.

Dimkpa stated: “While we welcome the emergence of new political movements, the ADC remains focused on building a strong grassroots structure, presenting credible candidates and offering practical solutions to the challenges facing Nigerians.”

Dimkpa explained that the ADC intends to market its candidates based purely on character, competence, and merit rather than relying on ethnic sentiments.

He added: “Ultimately, power belongs to the people, not political parties. The party that earns the trust of the people will prevail.”

Addressing potential fears of external manipulation during the 2027 polls, the chairman revealed that the party is already investing heavily in voter education, election monitoring, and intensive training for party agents.

He warned that the credibility of the 2027 general elections is absolutely vital for Nigeria’s democratic survival and long-term national stability.

Consequently, Dimkpa urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to uphold its constitutional mandate professionally to ensure that every single vote counts.
