Lauretta Onochie, a Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC and former presidential aide has taken to her official X to disclose the reasons why cases involving the party were always assigned to Justice Peter Lifu.
According to the statements which were shared on her official X account on Friday June 19th, 2026 she pointed out that the cases against the ADC lacked credibility and merit, hence, the choice of Justice Peter Lifu.
The African Democratic Congress, ADC it can be recalled, had been under the spotlight after the federal high court judge ruled on the hotly debated status quo antebellum regarding the party’s leadership crisis.
Justice Peter Lifu, in separate ruling which stirred massive public controversy, ordered the deregisteration of the ADC, blatantly disregarding the stay order issued by a superior court.
Lauretta Onochie, widely known for her outspokenness, pointed out that the Abuja high court judge was always assigned cases involving the ADC because he was compromised.
She further pointed out that no honourable judge will accept the role of subverting justice, as she maintained that no judge will allow himself to be forced to do what was wrong.
Many had argued over the competence of Justice Peter Lifu, with Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights lawyer arguing that the Abuja high court judge lacked the capacity to function as a Judge.
