BREAKING: Makinde: He Can Run For The President, But He Shouldn’t Betray Trust, We Are All G5 Members-Ayodele

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has said that every Nigerian has the constitutional right to contest for any political office, including the presidency. However, he stressed that political ambition should not lead to a breach of trust among political allies.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Fayose talked about his relationship with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and their involvement in the G5 group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He explained that disagreements over party leadership and internal issues contributed to the problems between them.

Fayose said he has no problem with Makinde seeking higher political office if he chooses to do so. However, he emphasized that trust and loyalty are very important in politics and should not be ignored.

According to him, “He has the right to contest for president, but he shouldn’t betray trust; we are all members of the G5.”

The former governor stated that strong political relationships are built on mutual respect, honesty, and keeping promises. He warned that actions seen as betrayal could damage friendships and political partnerships that took years to build.

Fayose also expressed confidence that future political events would reveal the impact of decisions made by important figures within the opposition party.
