Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has awarded a comprehensive educational scholarship to Chiazo Umeaniba, a student of Maria Regina Model Comprehensive Secondary School, Nnewi, in recognition of her outstanding performance in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Umeaniba, who scored 344 in the examination, emerged as one of the highest-performing candidates in Anambra State, earning widespread commendation for her academic excellence.
The scholarship, announced by the governor during the first anniversary celebration of Solution Fun City in Awka, will fund her education from the undergraduate level through the completion of a doctoral degree.
The announcement came after Governor Soludo watched a cultural performance by students during the event.
Umeaniba, who is the senior prefect of her school, was among those participating in the presentation.
Following an interaction with the student and learning about her exceptional UTME result, the governor decided to reward her achievement with a long-term educational sponsorship.
While presenting the award, Soludo praised the student’s dedication and determination, stating that academic excellence should be recognised and encouraged.
He assured her that the state would support her educational journey, saying, “Your education from undergraduate to PhD is on me. Yes, the bill is on me. I was also a senior prefect like you. I made the best result.”
The scholarship reflects the Anambra State Government’s commitment to investing in education and rewarding exceptional students.
It also reinforces the administration’s efforts to encourage young people to remain focused on their studies and strive for excellence.
The anniversary celebration of Solution Fun City attracted government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, students, and other invited guests, with cultural performances and entertainment forming part of the activities that marked the occasion.
