According to a report published by Punch Newspaper on Monday, May 18, 2026, residents of Oriire Local Government Area have been left in deep mourning following the killing of one of the teachers abducted during a recent attack on Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele.
The deceased teacher, identified as Michael Oyedokun, was reportedly beheaded by kidnappers after he was abducted alongside other staff members and students during the invasion of the school on Friday, May 15. The attack has intensified fears over worsening insecurity in parts of Oyo State.
