According to a report by Vanguard News, the rescue operation launched by Yoruba Nation activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, to secure the release of kidnapped residents in Igboho, Oyo State, has reportedly encountered growing obstacles and uncertainty one week after it commenced.
The mission followed the reported abduction of residents from Igbope, a community near Igboho. Among those allegedly kidnapped were a pregnant woman, who was later reported to have died while in captivity, and an individual said to have been delivering ransom money. In response to the incident, Igboho convened a meeting at the palace of the Ona Onibode of Igboho, Oba AbdulRasheed Adetoyese, where he reportedly issued a two-hour ultimatum demanding the immediate release of the captives. He also alleged that some Fulani youths were connected to the abductions.
Although videos circulated on social media shortly after the meeting suggesting that the victims had been rescued, security agencies and local government authorities reportedly dismissed the claims, maintaining that the abducted persons were still being held..CONTINUE FULL READING>>>
