School Kidnap: Terrorists Heard Soldiers’ Gunshots And Aircraft Hovering Over Us So They Fled—Victim

Paul Namaske, the vice principal of Government Day Secondary School, Lassa, in Askira/Uba LGA of Borno State, has spoken about how he and other victims abducted from the school on were rescued

According to a report by Punch on Monday, June 29, 2026, Namaske said the terrorists abducted him, a teacher and more than 20 students who were writing the National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations

Namaske stated that the terrorists took them to a bush and while they were there, a Nigerian military aircraft began hovering over the area and they also heard gunshots from soldiers. He said the terrorists fled in different directions while he and the other captives got rescued by soldiers

In Paul Namaske’s words: “The terrorists took us into the bush. When a military aircraft started hovering over us, the insurgents started dispersing. While this was happening, we heard gunshots from the soldiers, so they (the terrorists) began to run”
