EXCLUSIVE: When Obi And Some Of Us Joined NDC On May 3, They Woke Up On May 4 And Filed An Application- Umeh

The lawmaker representing Anambra Central at the National Assembly, Senator Victor Umeh has stated that there are some people who don’t want the former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi to be on the ballot in 2027.

This statement was contained in a video that was posted on the official X handle of Arise News on Monday, June 29, 2026.

This is coming after court set aside a judgement that ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to register NDC as a political party.

In the video that surfaced online, Victor Umeh stated that after Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and some other people joined the NDC on May 3, 2026, they went to court the following day to file an application.

Here is what Victor Umeh said;

“When Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso and some of us joined the NDC on May 3, they woke up on May 4 and filed an application to set aside the registration of a party that has been existing for about five months”.
